The Delhi government has floated a plan to set up 100 charging stations across the city. This move is due to the ‘Switch Delhi’ campaign which aims to sensitize citizens about electrifying the fossil fuel powered vehicle. But to succeed in this campaign, the government has to heavily invest in setting up new charging stations. That’s why the Delhi government aims to open EV Charging stations every kilometer in two years.
Currently there are 70 functional e-charging stations. Earlier rumour was that the government aimed to set up 500 charging stations at 100 locations. These locations include DTC Bus depot, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation premises and in the markets.
Government has even declared a subsidy of ₹30,000 on purchase of any electric two wheelers.
